If your laptop won’t switch on, has  LEDs lit but a blank screen, or  keeps shutting down while  working, then it is time to get it  checked over. I can replace laptop screens, parts prices vary greatly but a typical  replacement for a budget laptop of a well-known brand might be £60  including parts and fitting. Laptop Keyboard Repair Laptop keyboards are seldom  repairable but are designed to be  relatively easy to replace and are  not too expensive - no fix, no fee! Laptop Power Adapters A failed external power supply will  result in the laptop running on  battery until that is exhausted.  Then the laptop will not switch on  even with the power plug in place.   I can quickly test your DC power  adapter and tell you whether it is  faulty, or if the DC socket on the  laptop is broken instead. If a new external power adapter is  required, these can be obtained  from after-market parts suppliers  for around £30. I can advise  where to order, or obtain one for  you.  In an emergency you can  buy a universal laptop charger  from places like PC World and  Comet, these tend to cost a lot  more and is important to  configure them to the right voltage for your particular laptop.
